Benaocaz

Roman Road

The Roman Road of Benaocaz is a cobbled path that allows you to visit part of the Natural Park from the municipality to Ubrique. During the Muslim period this path linked Ubrique Alto with Benaocaz and the now disappeared village of Archite.

Hermitage of Saint Sebastián

The Hermitage of Saint Sebastián, located in the highest part of the hillside, is the first Christian temple in the town after the Reconquest. Built at the end of the 15th century on the outskirts of Setenil, it has a late Gothic style and is small in size. Tradition has it that it comes from the tents dedicated to sacred spaces that were set up during campaigns and sieges. The Procession of Silence, one of the oldest in Spain, departs from this temple.

Torre Alháquime

Festival of Saint Roque

One of the most eagerly awaited traditions during the summer period is the Festival of Saint Roque, in honor of the patron saint of Torre Alháquime. Every year, in mid-August, the town is decorated for the festivities, which last several days and include activities such as the procession of the patron saint, dances, musical performances, open-air dances and sports competitions.

Cultural Autumn, All Saints’ Day and Tapas’ Route

In November the celebration of cultural activities continues with the Cultural Autumn of Alcalá. On the November 1st, All Saints’ Day takes place, a deep-rooted tradition in which tribute is paid to the deceased. Finally, during the weekends in November, the Tapas’ Route is held. A gastronomic tour of the main bars and restaurants in the municipality, where you can savor the exquisite traditional dishes of the village.

Ubrique

Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park

Between Cadiz and Malaga, we find one of the most recognizable natural environments in Andalusia, the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. Irregular reliefs, canyons and underground labyrinths of caves are some of the geological landmarks produced throughout history. The range of activities on offer in this environment goes from summit ascents to rock and wall climbing, in a setting of forests of holm oaks, cork oaks and Spanish firs, descendants of the fir trees of central Europe, which nowadays only live here.

Puerto Serrano

Candles Festivity

The town of Puerto Serrano bids farewell to the year with its traditional Candles Festivity, which lights up the entrance of the new year in the Town Hall Square. Fireworks, music and champagne accompany the inhabitants of the municipality all night long.
